This all happened the evening of 8-13-2011
(It's worth noting that I received word that Jerry, Kerrie's father died earlier in the day.
As I don't claim to understand what exactly happens in death, I do feel strongly in energy and its place in the universe.
Jerry was a good man, and brought good things to this world. He brought Kerrie to my father and Tim to me during early baseball years.
The products of that man have brought joy to our lives and there is no question his energy will fill the universe with joy and happiness.
I wish you well Jerry, I knew you for a short time but you were a good man. Godspeed.)
Had a decent exercise day in the AM at fitness world with my new dumbbell cross fit type routine.
Ate my delicious strawberry banana protein shake.
Walked to kits beach for kits-fest and impressed the ladies
Came home and did laundry for the company this evening
Got ready around 6 and bused to downtown.
Went to Manone's for a single blue buck and then headed to the Amsterdam cafe to take care of business.
Had my red-bull and vodka water mix and finished the job at about 735.
Took off for rogers arena.
I'm wearing my new favorite decepticon purple shirt and black pants.
I prob looked amazing.
I've got my doob tube in my pocket and as I am approaching I hear the PA describe pat downs and searches so I turn around and look for a hiding place for my tweeds.
I go a block west and head down to a construction overhang and find a nice cozy spot for everything, lighter, doob tube, and roach container.
Drop it off and expect it is good bye forever.
Head back to the arena and there are so many attractive women. One couple of women in front of me are pulling off a joint right up to the entrance line.
I am a pussy.
Get in, no pat down no nothing so all was for not, and b-line for my seats. I wanted nothing of the chaos outside the arena, although I should have stood around and saw the sights. Plenty of fine women. I was high at the time so prob wouldn't have been great but I bet there were plenty of ladies looking for a handsome young man like myself to snuggle up with.
I get to my seat and its ok. The lay of the land is a couple to my left, and right, with a seat empty to my left.
Not sure about behind cause I really didn't look.
In front of me was a 40's something couple of ladies that were absolutely bopping all night.
At first it was amusing and made gave me a huge smile because of how happy she was, eventually it became annoying and the couple of women next to her were getting irritated. They went so far as to take pictures of their backs and post them on Facebook describing how bad their seats were. I'm not sure why they didn't just stand up as well, but what do I know.
anyway, this will be the last I mention of this, but I was surrounded by pigs. I swear to god I couldn't go one song without at least two people dropping ass.
This happens whenever I go to movies too. How the people in this city cant keep their ass shut for 2 hours straight is beyond me.
I digress.
John Legend comes on and his stage setup is nice and the show is very good.
He's a great singer and i could get into his music.
All his "red" sets were good to me. Every song had a color I think and all the ones that were red sounded nice.
He finishes and I chat via sms with Elizabeth again. I can see her but she can't see me.
It was nice, I point out she is in red and when we finally met eyes I could see her huge smile.
That was nice.
I didn't go sit with her because I kind of wanted this experience to be my own. I was resigned to going alone and I had to face that demon.
I was unimpressed with the crowd and I felt much better for coming and staring my solitude down in the face of a very romantic venue.
On a side note, i did notice that this was Canucks stadium and saw all the Stanley cup finals stuff in the rafters. That was pretty cool.
Sade, divine. I love my Sade.
Every song was superb. Her chatting with the crowd in between was excellent too. I cant imagine hearing that voice on a regular basis.
So classy, so elegant.
Smooth operator snuck up on most of the crowd and people didn't stand until they heard the sax. I knew it from the beat but didn't stand until everyone else did.
Another song snuck up on me too but can't remember. I think it was a heavy groovy baseline track. Not sure tho.
She played lovers rock and it was wonderful.
And she ended with an encore of Cherish the Day and that made me so so happy. It totally snuck up on me but when I heard those first notes I got all giddy.
the baseline was just as it needed to be too. It was exquisite.
I wait until people filter out and chatted with E<3 to meet me out at the top of her section.
We meet up and I go off and buy $120 worth of paraphernalia. I didn't blink an eye. I took out 120 in the AM and spent it all in one shot.
Totally worth it. 2 t shirts and a program.
We leave, go back to my stash and to my surprise it is still there. Awesome. E<3 was cool with it which was fun.
It was lightly raining but not bad.
We walk to get money, we flirt a bit. She looks amazing btw. In a tight red top with black leggings that have sheer bits on them. Just tight as hell and smelling like heaven. Thank you universe.
We get money at BMO, run over to granville for pizza and the late night crowds are getting irritating so we get out of there and pull a cab back to my place.
The rest of the night was wonderful
