I'm not a fan of posting music to FB and likes just wont cut it on YouTube so I'll document it here.
I have a really hard time finding new music I like and YouTubes have been pretty good so far to get an initial listen and ultimately buy on iTunes.
I don't know why I have such a hard time with this.
I swiped one of the most recent Georgia Straights with top of 2011 and that was really a lot to do to collect names, track down the video, listen to it, decide if I like it then maybe buy it.
Hassle.
Why can't someone come up with some sort of portable device like thing that can like.. tune in, or something to like a central station that broadcasts music, and I could just tune into that. Almost like itunes radio only for portable devices. You'd think with the technology we have today.
Speaking of technolgy.. Shazam! Shazam..is awesome.
I've got like four songs from it now. Ok two songs, but it has potential.
[edit] this was supposed to be a thread of music I found recently, but I have strayed from that path a bit. [/edit]

Re: Music I've come to like
I actually loved this song since I heard it on Spinbad's NeedleToTheGroove mix.
So I look at the track list and all it says is Intro?
I'm like that stinks, cause yeah, its the intro, but where's the title.
So I play it on my stereomachine and fire up Shazam.
It finds it right away and whaddayaknow, turns out that IS the title. Who knew.
Saw the artist, and was like ..nawww..saw the album, and I was like sheeeeit.
So I have yet to Itunes it (itunes is a verb now, it means buy it on iTunes) cause it is pretty short, and this vid gets my fix when I need it.
Prob fitting, first post intro and all that.

Re: Music I've come to like
Just saw the movie Drive and yes, I liked it very much.
I'm sure every dude likes to identify with cool characters like the main character in this one, and I absolutely did as well.
I don't actually have a scorpion jacket, but I AM a scorpio... and I do have a bad ass muscle car.
I am also kind of a loner so we're very similar in a lot of ways, except for you know, the brutal murders and violence and all.
The music is very 80's yet haunting in a creepy, dark, Miami Vice sort of way.
I like.
Also, cover art on this one rules.
Kavinski - Nightcall

Re: Music I've come to like
I'm in love with this girl, and she's my age so I don't feel creepy (as you get older, everybody looks younger so you almost always feel creepy)
This has got a great beat and her voice is superb.
She should have more records if she doesn't. I honestly don't know how many she has, I did a quick iTunes search and it just looked like one. Maybe she's an up and comer.
I got this one off Shazam at a starbucks.
I think the refrain is what my ear keyed in on.

Re: Music I've come to like
I got hooked on this song on the flight back from Mexico (not surprisingly) whilst watching The Hangover 2.
That whole trip was a bust for me and this somehow made me feel better in a majestic journey feel good sort of way.
Very corny, but great song nonetheless.

Re: Music I've come to like
I was just looking through my thousands of bookmarks and found this one in there.
This is absolutely NOT a new favorite, but I've loved this one for so long I can't not give it credit.
I also, love this woman.

Re: Music I've come to like
So this is a little bit out of place, but you can't (or I can't rather) deny the vocal performance in this one.
My grandma loves this guy for his christmas carols and we watched the whole Andy Williams special one christmas. I think 2010.
I would love to put just the bit @ 1:01 and 1:58 in a mix somewhere cause it just sounds so good to me.
That's really the only part of this one I like, but if I don't record it somewhere I might forget.
Andy Williams - O Holy Night

Re: Music I've come to like
I can't NOT include this.
For whatever reason this song ALWAYS makes me happy, as soon as I hear the beat drop.
It may have to do with being intoxicated in the summer sun in a beautiful city.
regardless, this song (and video) rules.
The effect when Russell is swimming under Noodle's life raft @ 3:16 is killer.
These guys do great animated videos.
Song still gets me.
Also, I saw them live and in person, which makes me awesome.

Re: Music I've come to like
If you know me (which you probably do), I don't have to explain this one.
It may not be obvious, but I identify with this song for the exact opposite reason this song implies.
I am absolutely 0% smooth in most of my operations.
There are too many of hers I could have picked, but this one is so classic and always makes me happy.
Sade - Smooth Operator
I love this woman as well, probably the most of all the total strangers I will never meet.
Unfortunately I'm pretty sure she's an alien, but I still love her.

Re: Music I've come to like
I'm off track of the topic of this thread and am just picking songs I run across in my bookmarks.
Sorry bout that.
I've loved this one since high school.
Somber and emotional.. very high school.
There are like two more on this album that are good but I like this on the most.
If this were a soundtrack to a movie, the drop at 3:40 would be where the make out happens. Wait for it.
