Internet evolution and human mind similarities

Post by MotRod »

I had a thought to make a relation to the likeness of internet evolution and the evolution of the human brain and mind.

Ideas

-Expand with examples on how human logical and mechanical constructs are a product of the human mind/brain and therefore mimic the architecture and mechanics of the mind and brain. A specific example of this is DNS and DHCP functionality as well as the dispersed resource model of the internet. [Dr. Stephen Pinker]
--DNS, a querying originator polls a single resource for "directions" to a particular destination resource.
Subsequent and subordinate resources then direct that query to increasingly more specific and authoritative resources. Ultimately through a process of redirection the query finds its "authoritative" answer.
I am making unfounded predictions the brain functions in a similar manner.

--DHCP, Thoughts around this hinge on the concept a single broadcast to all resources listening to obtain a desired outcome.
In a situation where a specific answer is needed but a destination resource is by design unknown, a broadcast query is an effective mechanism to solicit a response from the resource that is capable of responding in the desired manner.

--I also anticipate the dispersed but interconnected allocation of resources to mimic the architecture of the brain.
This is in fact true per common brain anatomy as illustrated to me by Dr. Daniel Siegel talk. {link needed}

--Based on the assumption that the brain has evolved from more primitive concepts and mechanical motivators to mechanics capable of more complex and abstract processing, I believe the evolution of the internet mimics this evolution in similar ways.
See Dr. Daniel Siegel Google Talk

For example, My understanding of the internet at inception was that of simple message passing between resources.
It then evolved into multiple hosting resources providing static content.
It then evolved into multiple hosting resources providing active and more varied content.
It then evolved searching capabilities in a relatively primitive form.
It then evolved into multiple hosting resources providing services for consumption.
It then evolved into multiple hosting resources providing more robust resources for socializing.
It has now evolved to rely heavily on search such that information is more often queried than accessed directly
This process is connecting the static information together by linking it with a common query mechanism.

What I believe will eventually follow is a system that has collected enough information to uniquely identify itself as its own unique entity and ultimately establish a form of consciousness [incomplete thought]

[self serving aside]Would my creation of personal tracking and data collection facilitate this?[/self serving aside]

Humans need to be smaller.

Spores, small, survive space.

Humans need to be much much smaller.

Bacteria lives happily in nature.

To an order of size and magnitude, humans have exactly what they need to evolve off the planet.

Look at the efficiencies of size.

If we have proven our dominance over things large, that technology should scale.

From an efficiency perspective that is the road off this planet.

The size and weight of humans in proportion to the amount of energy we need to get off the planet.

Same argument for what we need to sustain ourselves on the planet.

This is proven by the law of conserving of energy.

I think if we have a military and society that is very efficient at exterminating itself and any other "subordinate" creature off the planet, we should be able to figure out small versions of our tools to allow us to survive on smaller scales.
