Clarifying ideas through memes

I am in the early ongoing stages of trying to work out a functional method for communicating ideas in different ways.

Compacting thoughts into bite sized images, text or both such that idea consumption can be streamlined and made more universal to more types of perspectives or "learners".
In other words, I am trying to identify ways in which we use images, language(text), sound, video and all forms of media to convey ideas from one mind to another and how we can capitalize on technology to foster more efficiency in this process.

One thing that stuck out to me tonight on reddit, is an effect I see often on reddit and may best be described as the evolution of memes.

Reddit has a way of generating these and I felt like i stumbled onto one tonight.

The link title of this one was "Playing with a computer as a kid" and it linked to this image

What struck me as interesting was that this message could easily have been written as.
"Do you remember being a kid playing on your computer and scribbling in MS Paint and filling in the shapes with the filler tool?"
Same message, but with the image the idea is more salient and nostalgic. It gives the idea more resonance with the "user" and enhances the message.

this is just one example, reddit is full of images that describe ideas in many ways and what is interesting is that this has become kind of a theme with a couple different variations that I would like to come back to.

I should enumerate all the ways and provide some examples of how I see this in many online content sources, reddit in particular.
This would be a good exercise.
